    Low Seats

I have a 2008 285XL. This is my second Stratos I've owned. It seams all Stratos seats sit low. I'm 5'6" and was wondering if anybody has ever raised their seats to where they set higher?

Get you a phone book to sit on like at the barber shop.

    Re: Low Seats (Ten12)

That's one thing I love about my Stratos, low seats. I like sitting inside the boat instead of on top of it like in some I've been in. Seriously, you should be able to see over the dash, right? I let my stepson drive mine when he was 14 or 15 & he was about that height or shorter & he had good visibility.

I like the low bucket style seats the best. I have rode in a boats that have a higher bench style seat and did not feel as comfortable in rough water as I do in low buckets.

+1 I like the low seats of Stratos and Champs both. I hate how high the seats set in a Nitro. Feels like your setting on top of the boat instead of being "in" the boat.

If you think Strat seats sit low, you would hate Ally and Stroker seats.

As others have said you want to sit in the boat, not on it.

i know what he's saying as a shorter person it does seem like you're reaching for the wheel and hot foot. At least when I drive my partners 201 it seems like that...

    Re: (JeffA)

After having my Stratos I will look for boats that have low seats. I've never felt as safe as far as being thrown out as I have in a Stratos. My friend has a Ranger and he always talks about how he dosen't even have to grab the (OH SHIT) handles when hes in my boat. Very comfortable well positioned seats!!!!!!!!!and I'm only 5'10" in the right shoes. I heard that the new Basscat Eyra took it's seat design from Stratos due to the fact that you sit in the boat and not on it.

JR19, I'm from Harrodsburg KY. My wife's job brought us to Abilene. I sure do miss fishin' for those small jaws at Lake Cumberland and Green River.

I figure I'll just use my throw cushion. That seems to work.

Green River is sometimes overlooked as a small mouth fishery but they are there. I supppose you fish Cedar Creek and Herrington alot if you lived in Harrodsburg...Dont forget Dale Hollow small mouth capitol of the south.
