I was running a Raker 20 x 14 1/2 raker on a 1987 stratos 181P w/ a 2000 Johnson 150. The RPMs were 58-5900 speedo around 59-60 and nice & smoothe. I know put a 22 x 14 1/2 Raker on & motor sounds different almost rough, rpms around 5500, speedo around 61-62 & props breaks loose or slips whenever Motor is trimmed up part way, & my 20 Raker very seldom slipped. My prop shaft is about 34 1/2" below the pad & boat weighs around 2400 plus or minus. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
That boat was rated for a 175 hp motor and most guys uasully run a 23-p prop and i dont know about the the raker's but i think there numbers run a littler larger than there are and if your boat weighs that much you may have wet foam in that boat , i'll would try a 23-p tempest plus to try to get the bow up ?
Why did you change props, since you seemed to be pleased with the first one?
I rebuilt the motor this last winter & this is the first season for that motor on my boat. The book said it should run 5500 RPMs & my motor was running about 5900 & I don't want to wreck the motor (maybe it won't hurt it). My boat has also been completely restored & all new foam inside, I did it myself. Boat has not sat sat outside since.
Sounds like you need to try some other different props.

Yea, the boat is great. I had the cap off & everything. I could put some pics up if I knew how, I am sure it could help some pour soul out.. I think I still itch from the glass. I will try to find another prop or put the 20 back on & watch the rpms. Thanks for the replies.
