TRansducer Locactions, in the hull and on the transome!

Looking for pics of guyz transducer installations in hull and on the transome, i mounted mine in the hull of my 21 SS extreme and i'm losing depth after i'm on plane, looking for the best location to mount it so it works properly!

Which model. I have a HB 898si the transduecer is on the jackplate. Later I might get the thru - hull but you need a switch to run it.

Wayne, sounds like you might have gotten an air bubble in the epoxy when you put it in. I have 20SS my transducer is in the hull with no problems or loss of bottom.

I have seen several post in the past where guys having a problem put just a little bit of water in the bilge and say that they have had good luck doing that.

I mounted mine in the trough about 4 inches before the drain hole in the hull, removed it this morning and installed it further back, i guess i'll find out on sat if it made a difference(have a tourny), thanks for replying!

I have a 19 SS Extreme and have been having a terrible time with the same problem. It had an original one in it from the factory I guess. I broke it out and will try there. I was hoping someone knew if they made a specific location for them on these boats? I hope it works there I don't really want to mount one outside.

I remounted mine just to the left of center 6 inches before the drain trough, works great what a world of difference, i'll post a pic later!
