Hey guys I was looking at a 1995 javelin fish&ski boat I was going to buy today and noticed on each side of the transom there were some small hairline cracks in the gel coat. They did not look very deep but noticeable. Could this mean that there is something wrong with the transom? If so is it a major problem or could pose a major problem or any help would be appreciated!!!
I bet it is just hairline stress cracks. Trim the motor up and step on the foot, watch for flex in the transom. No flex is a good thing. Stress cracks are like wrinkles, not so pretty but not a real problem. Stand by for an Ally owner to tell you theirs don't crack

haha so is it anything I should be worried about? Also does anyone know what causes this?
I seen a ton of boats that have them, just trim it up and check it out, should be fine
I did that and could not tell anything. The motor tilted just a tad but did not see the transom give at all. They are on the top side way out of the water so it should be fine. I guess if not thats what insurance is for anyway
