08 294 xl
I am looking at getting a 294 w/ a 200 yamaha series 2 and wanting to know some of the pros and cons of this boat. I have rode in one and from what I see is it a good boat.
How does it ride in rough water
What about stress cracks I know the older ones were real bad about it

Re: 08 294 xl (cad830)
Great boat. I had an '09 and really liked it. I stepped down to it from a 201. Cons to it? Narrower deck than the 201 had (it's a smaller boat though). Some folks complain because the trolling motor head will interfere with the opening of the rod locker if you have the trolling motor stowed and try to open the locker (didn't bother me). Pros to the boat? It's a great deal for a 19' boat. It's a mid 70's boat with two people and a load setup right. It rides great and handles well.
I think it's one of the best bangs for the buck out there.

Re: 08 294 xl (ep72)
i got the same setup your looking at and love it. I contemplated on not getting it cause its a 19'6 boat, but am extreamly happy with it. Handles rough water very well for the size. I have nothing negitive to say about it.

Re: 08 294 xl (Team do work)
Fished Wheeler and G'ville in some heavy winds and it did fine. After I sold it, the dealership let me borrow a Z-9 for a Regional I had. The 294 out rode the Z-9 hands down (and was a LOT faster).
