    Trailer lights

I have a 2000 21 SS. One of my tail lights is out on the trailer. It is a sealed light with a wire and 2 pronged plug coming off of it. Do I have to buy the whole sealed light with wires? and how much?

The wires connectors are universal, and they just plug into the back of the housing. But you may have a hard time finding just the light without the wires since they usually come together. Which lights do you have? Oval, round, led, incandescent?

It is a standard tail light bulb but encased in a tear drop plastic that lays sideways. I don't see any way to open it to change the bulb.

If it has a rubber boot around it whih I am sure it does. Push the light part out the front and unplug, go to boat store are tackle shop and pick a new one up very simple, Cost around $15 bucks for regular light and $30 to 35 for the LED type.

Sounds like my tail lights. There is no rubber boot. The tear drop portion on mine has 2 small screws that are in the upper and lower corners, above and below the fat part of the teardrop. These screw directly into the trailer. I have seen replacement teardrop assemblies in the store, but my light and wires are mounted directly to the trailer so these "kits" do not work. I am able to change the bulb with no problems however once removing the teardrop.

Guess I will have to look at mine again and see if there is a way to get to the bulb. It was getting dark so maybe I missed some thing.
