Rod broke while in rod storage locker, I guessing....

I pulled my Mojo 7ft MH crankbait rod out yesterday morning without any problems and noticed about 6 inched was broke off and dangling. It was broke right in front of the third eye. I went in the rod organizer smoothly whem I put the rod up last week. What could have caused it or what did I do wrong? I have noticed that sometimes they can be a bit of problem to get in there but this wasn't the case. BTW, why are they such a problem to get in there and out?

Yep, going to go buy some. I just figured since the boat had rod organizers with tubes, it wasn't needed.
