help with a 2003 21 XL MAGNUM

I have a 2003 21 XL MAGNUM with 2003 225 evinrude

looking for any advise on a good prop for hole shot. Just blew my second lower unit. I have 4 batteries in back and when both live wells are full my partner has to get on front deck or im not getting up. I have a 27 trohpy on it now. Any help would be great thanks guys!

How many rpms are turning with the 27 Tempest? That seems like a lot of prop for that combo.

dauwg, I just sold the exact same boat to my dad, (see my siggy)....I was running a 28" Allison cut hydromotive 4 blade prop on it and spinning it to 5800, but i'm at sea level, my dad has it in Oklahoma now and he's doing pretty well with a 27 tempest, the props i was able to turn here are a bit too big for him now.

As a point of reference, the previous owner of my boat(21XL magnum) would run 80+ with a 26 Tempest+ (Not B+B) with a 250 XB which is a stouter motor than yours. I currently have run the same boat/motor combo at 80+ with a 27P Predator 4 blade. I personally think that you should consider a 25P prop based on the HP/Boat/RPM potential of the motor. JMHO though and trying to help you out with other's boater experiences. You might want to post the same question on the Evinrude/Johnson board as someone might have the answer that you are asking.
