    Help Todd

Todd, I purchased the new 201 with the HO 250 from C & O last week. Saturday I tried it out with a tournament load and two people. The boat took forever to get on plane and it has a severe blow out on break over. I would like to get the proper set up for me this weekend. Any suggestions.

    Re: Help Todd (buck201)

Set your motor at 3 1/8 inch below the pad, use two large plugs and one open hole.

OK one question, the two large plugs, do they close the hole or leave a larger hole. Sorry guys this is new to me.

The two plugs you will use have large holes in them, the other hole in your prop will have no plug in it.

each boat is different, its a matter of playing with prop height and plugs...wish you were closer as I love setting them up

    Re: Help Todd (Blue Steel)

I removed one plug and it jumps out of the hole, but the blow out is worse. Remove two plugs it will not even get a bite. I talked to someone at the ramp who has a 201 and he says to plug two holes and leave one open. Waiting to receive plugs. It is an improvement from last week. Hope tho have it dialed in soon.

Hey Todd please remind Brad to send me some plugs and the certificate of orgin so I can finish all the paper work. Thanks for all your help.

Buck, I think you mean that youre having some cavitation as the bow drops? Having some cavitation at that point is not always a bad thing. Ive always had some on my hulls and that includes a 201 years ago.

Blue Steel really has his boat hooked up. Between Todd and Blue Steel, you'll be smoking the majority of the crowd!

    Re: Help Todd (Blue Steel)

Thanks guys, thats whats happening when the bow drops, but it's not a little its a lot. I have to feather the throttle and trim while the prop will not get a bite for 10 or more seconds. I feel a lot better now because it is 80% better than a week ago and I think changing these plugs will get me where I need to be. Thanks again to everyone. I will keep you posted.

    Re: Help Todd (Todd Morgan)

Does this set up work with an 08 201 250HO? I also have a problem getting on plain when the boat is fully loaded live wells, fuel, extra person ect. I am at 2.75 under pad.

    Re: Help Todd (hawgswinger)

Here is my setup one plug closed off, one large diameter hole plug, one plug removed. Decent hole shot, very little blow, 74 mph gps. I love it. Thanks to all that helped.
