389T tac just quit working???? it worked fine the last time out.. but yesterday it didnt work at all... what do i look for??? where does it hook up to the motor??al the wires seem to be good... could it just go bad?? the boat is a 94 model.. thanks .............bill
check the voltage at the battery after starting. you may have a voltage reg/rectif going out.
think you should see voltage climb after starting to about 13.75v
post over in the rude/johnson section - include the model/serial number of engine.

Is it a system check tach? If it is, does the system check still work?
The tach on my '99 died last year. I sent it back to Faria this spring and for $50 they sent me a brand new one. If it is a Faria they have a lifetime Warranty and they will fix or replace it.

94 model will not have system check unless he has changed motors. I would say you have a bad Rectifier/Regulator!
where would that be located on my motor????????????
