    Rusty-Ficht Oil consumption

I had been using a lower grade oil- regular penzoil but switched to Mercury Premium Plus oil and then Synthetic. When I switched from the Penzoil my oil comsumption went way done. Down to now I am concerned if I might have a problem. I have been running this way for about 3 months. I don't get any warning lights or buzzers, no codes, and the motor never seems to get hot- doesnt smoke either. Seems to start better than before and runs strong but I dont use a tank of oil for each tank of gas I use, maybe 1/2 tank oil to 1 tank gas. I think my gas tank is about 35-40 gals. Do you think I might have a problem.

    Re: Rusty-Ficht Oil consumption (Kbass)

If it has run 3 months and you have no lights, horns, and the motor does not go into slow I would say you have no problem.

I think you now know why I don't recommend that brand of oil.
