    Help with my setup

I just got me a jackplate installed on my boat. Before I installed it it would run 67-68 at 5500 rpm with tournament load.I need to get my jackplate set right when they installed it they left it set all the way down. When I ran it after I had jackplate installed it wont run but 66-67 and only turn 5100 rpm.I need to get a level small enough so i can get my prop to pad measurement.Im new to this but does your rpm go up when you go up with the motor?Where should I start out when i get my prop to pad measurement. Also I have a turbo lightning prop that I cant figue out the pitch on.The number on the hub is TL147525 there is also some letters and numbers inscribed on the inside of the prop that looks like a serial number.I may need to go down in prop size to get my rpm's.My boat is a 03 stratos 185 with a 03 150 vmax.any help would be greatly appreciated.

get a regular level and place it on the back deck then lower the front of the boat till it registers level, then lower your engine and put level alonr cavation plate till it is level. then take a long ruler or tape measure and then mark on the lower unit then measure the center of LU to line. start at 3 1/4 to 3 1/2 " below the pad. then run the boa and move in 1/4" incruments up. Watch your water pressure . good luck

Re: Help with my setup (craigs06)

I now how to measure the prop to pad I guess what im really asking is what prop do you guys think I should run?I figured out the prop im running is 14.75x25p turbo lightning its just not getting the rpm's with the jackplate added and before I added it the motor had to be trimmed all the way up to hit 5500.I am thinking of tryin a 24p tempest plus or 24p raker 2 but I am worried that going down in pitch will hurt my speed but I just dont think im gonna be able to push a 25.My boat still comes out of hole great though.I just dont know much about picking a prop. Thanks guys.
