Rusty been thinking bout repowering. Maybe. 1st I had new Lightning l/u put on last year. Motor runs strong. Mostly looking for better fuel economy. This weekend I dropped 200 rpms with no clue to why? Nothing seems off. Any quick suggestions before I get it looked at. A few questions on getting new one. Do you take trades on outboards when purchasing new one? Currently have carbbed 225 HO. Boat is rated for 250HP. Looking for as much or more power as I have now and possible better fuel economy? There are a lot of things that can cause a 200 RPM loss.

The 250 E-Tec will seem like it makes gas compared to your current motor, I think it would the best option.

OK thanks. I got the IM. I am taking the motor to my mechanic today to check the 200 RPM loss. No need to try and trade if its something bad. I doubt it since there doesn't seem to be anything else wrong?? I will find out and give Reed a call. I asked you because you are the expert here. Surprised that 250 got the heads up over 225 HO. Just looking for the best option.
