Evo and non-Evo should be pretty much identical speeds with the 294. The only difference when looking at the two is the consoles. Hull is the same.

The difference in speeds is going to come from the people that spend a lot of time with their setups getting every tenth of a mph they can out of it.

I've got a '07 294 with a 200 HPDI. Haven't put the seat time in to learn how to drive her yet, but I'll let ya know soon. Cranked the Yammie up to 3" below pad (Todd Morgan's advice) until I learn to handle the rig. Went out Sunday with a buddy of mine, and ran 84..........unfortunately it was in a '09 21XRD with a 250 Pro XS! I could only get about 73 out of it! I've gotta pucker up and learn how to drive one like I stole it!

Re: What sppeds are everyone getting out of a 294 (Blue Steel)

    74 loaded one person
    72 loaded two people

76 one person and Todd driving HAHA!!!!

I need to raise the jackplate up a 1/4" because I don't get to but 5500 RPM's and the max is 5800 so I might get a little better out of it if i ever raise it but it runs so good where it is and is so easy to drive that I have not fooled with it any since I left C & O .

200 HO Evinrude on mine with a 26" RakerII.

I've seen 77, but run constantly in the low 70s loaded.

I thought it'd run faster at sea level in saltwater, but my best numbers to date have been at about 500 feet altitude and on freshwater ... go figure....

    Cheers,
