2009 201XL Classic vs waiting a year or two...

Ok Stratos homeys... enlighten me a bit... you guys have been dead on before so lets hear it. I am considering a 2009 201X Classic. Yeh i know, why not just get the EVO... cash my man, cash... but the EVO raises an interesting question... What will the 2010 201XL have to offer?? Discontinue the Classic? Will the EVO be the only offering at 201 size? If they keep the Classic what features will filter down from the EVO? Can't see purchasing new 2009 if just gonna be discontinued for next year, right?

Suposing all is cool in Stratosland... What were the specific changes in the 201XL from 2008 to 2009? Appears they are a bit behind in updating their website.

Is the 2009 201XL Classic a "lame duck" boat just finishing out it's term or what?

    Thanks guys!

I think you will find that there isn't much difference in price between an EVO and a 201 Classic after the 2K rebate on the Evos.

If cash is a concern and you are looking at a 201 Classic, why not go with a 2008 201 that is a team boat with all new warranties (sells as a brand new boat, financing and all)?

Check out C&O's site http://www.candomarine.com, click on C&O #1 and then on the left hand side you'll see a tab for Team Boats. You'll find a great list of boats at great prices compared to the '09's (mine included--top of the list ).

The '09 201 Classic received red faced gauges, and a couple of optional features in '08 became standard again in '09. Other than that, it's just a carry-over.

    HEY,

Just to let you know that I did the same thing and didn't get the motor I wanted on the boat I've got now. My advice is to get the EVO and take the rebate and deal it down to closer to the Classic Price and You'll never regret it. Just keep it and pay it off and enjoy the boat. Life is short!

Thanks for the advice guys. It's not like i have a bad boat now... the opportunity is just there. The Classic has a rebate too, and from my LIMITED experiece, when talking money... the boats are significantly different in price. But yes, good points all!

Oh yeah... does the 09 201 have a "day box" type deal for easy access to often used items? ..similar to the day box in front of the console on Skeeters? That is one handy little deal!

You guys are right. If it's worth doing at all, it's worth getting the EVO. Lots of stuff on here about EVO and E-tec (Thanks Blue Steel!)... but what about with 250 Series 2 Yamaha? Best prop, jackplate setback, and engine height? Anybody got gps speeds and a feel for that combo?

    Thanks!!
