how do you figure out how long a shock needs to be for a compartment or does it even matter how long it is. I want one for my battery compartment and one for my livewells and i wasnt sure how to measure. C & O have a bunch of them on the web.

Just give Carol a call at C&O. She can find out what size you need if she doesn't know off the top of her head.
I'd be careful putting them on your livewell lids. I want to get those lids closed as quick as possible as I have had fish jump out when the water's full. Those lids are so small and light it wouldn't take much for them to get opened. If a latch wasn't closed completely, for instance, and you started a run they could get opened and you could lose some water and or fish. Just a thought.

im only gonna put a shock on one livewell lid. The reason i have for this is i hate having to walk back to the livewell every time i want to put a crappie in there. i have been using a bungie cord and that is agravating keeping up with it. and the battery compartment makes me mad when im adding oil.
I got ya. I understand about the battery compartment and I think that is a good addition to the boat.

Carol can have the glass shop get the exact measurement and give you an idea on how it needs to be mounted.....drop her an email.
