    Drilling holes ?

    I have a 2014 521C.

I bought a TH-Marine money pole lure retriever (because in my last tournament, I lost $100 in A-rigs) LOL.

It is too long to place in the driver's floorboard, I really do not want it on the deck where my rods are. I could place it in the Port rod locker, but that is not my best option because it would take up space. I fish alone most of the time so a rear passenger in my boat is not a concern.

So, I bought some "Quick fist rubber clamps" to secure the money pole. I was thinking about mounting the pole directly behind the driver and passenger seats.

These clamps recommend a #10 screw.

How long of screw can I use before I punch through something I should not? ie, gas tank, live wells ect.

    Thanks !

I hate drilling holes in my boat. Certain applications, I use heavy duty 2 way mounting tape. I have even used it for mounting transducers on the transom.....

I used the screws directly behind the seats which hold the trim piece. I removed these screws and remounted the brackets to these. I can’t remember if I used longer screws but I do not think so.. maybe a larger diameter. Like you I hate putting extra holes in my rig.

2 part epoxy works. Glued a piece of thick plastic to transom and screwed transducer on. Been working fine
