I bought a used 2003 stratos 185 and who ever had it before me took the bow and dash sonars out and replaced them with a humminbird 525 in the bow and a lowrance x96 in the dash.When they installed these they were to large to put under the panels on the boat so they siliconed them down to the panels makeing a mess.If I order new sonars for my boat what would be the best way to mount them.I am planing on puting a lowrance x126df in bow and 520c in dash.
Order new panels from C&O. Easier to start over from new if you can.
Im in the process of doing that now but I need to know the best way to mount my new sonars in my new panels.Is there any way to mount them flush?Looks like to me all you could see is the screen and not the buttons I may be wrong though.
Do you have any pictures? Could the originals have been Lowrance X51's?
Mine is an '03 185 and it came with X51's bow and console.
