Stratos trailer

This is my first trailer with the oil bath hubbs. How do I know what my oil level is? I see some mfgs have a clear window but mine are black, is this normal? 2006 Dual axle

You can actually see through the glass...sunlight helps.

If you take the tire off, there's an allen head plug you can remove and visually inspect the level.

Once you know it's in there, look for oil leaks on the inside of the rim......no oil, no problem.
