    Anything bad at all?

I have yet to read a post on this forum that said anything bad about Javelin as a hull? Were there any major pitfalls and nightmare hulls or were they a really decent line that got squashed in the OMC downfall?

    Just wondering

Seeing as I used to own one, I think they were/still are great boats. I would still have mine today, but I was looking to upgrade to a little bigger boat. Caught tons of fish out of her. Whoever bought it from C&O got a great boat.

Thats a good question. They were every where when they were still in production in my neck of the woods. Still see a bunch of them on the water. I've never heard a ill word about them either. I think the early javelins were sleds, but the mid to late 90's thru their demise were as good as any thing else. The 379,389 and 400 series were the chit in their day. I still like their dash lay out better than anything today. Just my .02 though.

Yes. The 285XL is an old Javelin hull, as is the 200XL.

They were good boats. They were made side by side with the Stratos models. But, changes needed to be made. Stratos had the stronger brand and more of the stronger models (such as the 201). So, it just made more since to go with Stratos.

I have the 409 love the layout of the boat just need to get her dialed in better. I just had wondered as never does anyone speak ill of them. I know the renegade hull is still in use the 20 footer I believe is a stratos now.

I still have one of the old "chits" a 1996 379TE and it's still a little rocket for what it is. On more than one occasion, i've had people come up and look at the boat and swear it's a 01 or 02 model. and i have to suprise them with the actual year. It's a shame they didn't survive the corporate world.

I have a 2001 18 venom javelin dc, which I would guess was turned into a stratos.

Like the boat a lot get between 49-55 depending on air temp, load, and prop. Think thats pretty quick for a 115 on a 17 and some odd inch boat with a fat guy and half of cabelas on board.

Picture gets distorted a little on here

I have an SE model and really like it. You wouldn't believe what you can run it through without getting it upset too. Still working on set up, but I believe with just me it will get real close to 70mph GPS. I know if I do any mod's to me engine it will hit that with ease.

I had a 2001 Javelin 18 Venom and I really liked it. I would not hesitate to buy another one.
