I am looking at a used 285 and I am trying to figure out if the boat will fit in my garage. I need to know the width of the trailer (wheel to wheel), and the length from the swing-away tongue pivot to the back of the motor. My 03 extended cab chevrolet fits where the boat will be parked...hopefully the boat is not bigger than my truck.
not exactly sure of the width. should be about 96" wide. it's 20'6 long on the trailer with the toungue folded away.

Maybe I should ask it like this. I have a 19 X 20 garage. But the wife's car is not going outside to make room for the boat. So this leaves me with a 19' X 9.5' spot for a boat. There is a small 5' X 5' stoarage area in the garage. I was thinking that I could angle the boat so that the motor sits in the storage space. That should get me a foot or two. Anyone else out there with a 285 in a small garage?
it might take some finesse. but like i mentioned earlier, it's 20'6" on the trailer.
I have an 06 285 in a 1.5 car garage. If you angle it a little, it should fit, especially if you have that little extra storage area. Good luck.
I have a 2005 285 pro xl , it fits into a 2 car garage, with our gmc envoy. with out the tongue retracted. with about 3 in to spare, with motor trimed down.

congrats on the new boat!!! like we talked about the other day, you're going to love that 285. it's even more fun when the weather is a little more "boat friendly" it was cold yeasterday.
it was really great meeting you and your wife, she was tougher than most men out there in the boat at 60mph and 36 dregree air temps.

Unfortunately it didn't fit. If the garage was another foot wider it would have gone in. Good thing my dad has a huge shop I can keep it in. Thanks again for all of your help Clint.
