a buddy has a 2006 294 with a 200 hpdi on it and it runs 71, he could play with the plate and add a new prop and see 74, it handles rough water better than most.

C&O has ran a box stock 294 w/ 200 HPDI 78 with nothing in the boat. Alone with a light load you could expect 75-76 if you set it up right. 72 or so with a partner.

Put a Hydro-Tec Phase II kit on it and you will run 80+ light.

The 294 is one of the best overall hulls out there. It runs great, rides great, and fishes great. The 294/Yammie combo is the best value out.

My 294 with an etec runs 76 light and 73 with full tourney load and partner. it's for sale and i hate to see it go, but it's time for a 201.

My 07 294 w/ 200HO etech does 71 GPS, but I don't have a jackplate. It's fast enough for me, but I wouldn't mind one day getting a hydraulic jackplate for shallow water conditions.

Thanks for the replies,i'm wantin a boat in the 19 foot range now and its either the 294 stratos or the zx 200 skeeter.I like the ride of stratos a little better but i love the shallow water draft of the skeeter since i'm always in 18 inches of water or less,,,,,,both look good and have most of the same features but the stratos will be a little easier on the wallet,i'm pretty sure i'll go with the 294.Guess when i do i'll have to get a different username.

Take a 294 out and go where you want. It will surprise you at how shallow it drafts. I run a 201 and my partner fishes water where you can see the fins on the bass's backs. We were in water that was less than 18" last year. I know because I had the trolling motor up, the Yammie up, and we were just drifting. One time we had to use the paddle to push us back off of some gravel, but when I put the paddle in the water it wasn't a foot deep.

Meaning.......no my 201 will not make it in 12" of water, but it will in 18".

I have a 294 w/ a 200 efi.... what prop do you all suggest on it? I dinged up my 25p yamaha this weekend and need a replacement.

Oh ya I love my boat and have had it up some skinny creeks. Definitely good in shallow water.

Any love on the prop to go with a 294/ yamaha 200ox66 combo? I have not adjusted the motor height since getting the boat it has been maxing out at 68 mph gps at 5200 Rpm's with no adjustments to jackplate (6" manual). Currently running the stock 25p yamaha prop that it came with.

man i would think you need to come up with your jack plate, you should be spinning a 25 much more than 5200. also I think 68 is a little slow for that boat.. hopefully someone will chime in....

Re: 294 Pro XL ?'s (bigfish)

I know it is too low I just haven't played with the setup... 1st season driving a 70 mph boat so I was in no hurry to max it out this summer. But now since everyone is getting off the water (pleasure boaters), I am ready for WOT.

I am running 65mph at 4800 to 4900 so I know it has quite a bit left in the hammer.

What prop should I get to set this thing up properly is my question and what height should I start with on the prop to pad measurement?

2 3/4-3 in below the pad. 25T1 or a 25 TXP works great on the yamaha.
