I have a 520c from Lowrance and really like it.

I'm running a Humminbird 787C with through hull transducer and a 981 Side Scan with GPS with a transom mount transducer at the helm and a Matrix 35 at the bow.

I use the 787 on the plane, and the Side Scan at slow speeds. I've mounted the transducer so it is clear of the water on the plane. Colour is a big advantage in a sounder.

garmin products are more reliable in my opinion, just try to contact lowrance and say hi and see how long it takes,in my experience it will never happen.there service sucks or is non existent really.

I down with the bird man, humminbird! I have had a few problems with some of the matrix, but as always the folks at humminbird fixed me right up.

I am a Lowrance man. Never had trouble with their service. My partner has a Humminbird on his Ranger, he just sent it back to the factory for the 3rd time.
