No interest in Owners T, said who

. I see on here where people say Stratos dropped the owners T because there was just not enough interest. I disagree!!
I went to the T that was on old hickory a few years ago. I met guys from WASHINGTON STATE that drove here for the 2nd year to fish the Owners T on Old hickory. It was a very big deal and had LOTS of interest.
I think it was such a big deal because stratos helped to make it seem like a big event. ...Where has that support and enthusiasm from Stratos gone.

    Layne,

You fished it a few years ago. Things were a little different then. After last year's tournaments, there was not the same interest. Also, with as much blasting of Stratos decisions that is being done here and on other boards, what would you think if you were a member of Stratos management and you came on these boards? People are constantly running the brand down now. I know what kind of boats they are producing. I've seen the increase in dealers across the country. I know what sales are doing this year. Everything is positive except for the owners. Everyone loves their boats, but they are constantly running everything else down and also saying they will never buy another Stratos. Why would I want to invest thousands upon thousands of dollars into an event for the people that are turning off potential buyers because they don't like the changes that were made for example to the 200 XL? As good as sales are, they could be even better if the current owners were behind the company instead of writing it off as a company headed downhill.

I was the first to send my email in expressing my desire to see an Owner's Tourney. I've fished a regional before and enjoyed it. What Stratos wanted to do was put on a tournament that wouldn't require you to qualify through other tournaments. They wanted to put on a super event that only required you to own a Stratos. It would be put on by a great group of people that has a ton of experience with Stratos and with putting on first rate tournaments (C&O Marine). It would have been something everyone could be proud of. But, again, why do it when the company is not going to produce 20' boats and will be out of business in the next year or two (according to most folks on this board)?

If we showed the enthusiasm that I know we all have towards our boats, we could have the type of Owner's Tournament that any brand would be proud to have.

    I agree with Jason...

You know dude... people always wanna assume the worst... let them...

When you guys buy another rig... and Stratos is still around... we'll be passing you guys up...

I for one love the brand... and the boats... and i'll continue to run a Stratos boat...

And I got a feeling we'll see an owners tournament and a contigency program back at Stratos... sometime down the road...

I have owned both Ranger and Stratos and they are both good boats and there is room for both. I do not understand why Stratos is getting the short end.

I love my Stratos, never said I dont, but why is it our responsibility to promote stratos and be enthusiastic about whats going on if Stratos is not going to really step up and start being proud of stratos again instead of taking a backseat to Ranger, maybe they need a new P.R. man or advertising execs...

It just reminds me of the old mentality of "The beatings will continue until moral improves"

Its up to Stratos to honor US, Their customers, its should not be our responsibility to promote stratos and get them fired up about an event.

its not only the owners trashing the mighty stratos name but also the dealers . i have spoken with two different dealers that were not happy with the cuts stratos was making and they made it very clear to me the possible customer . one of them said that they have invested alot of time and work into stratos and that they felt let down that stratos was turning into an entry level boat . if stratos dont turn around the image they are beginning to take on they are in for some hard times . i traded my stratos in for a skeeter this time and im sure many will follow if stratos dont convince us and their dealers that the company is strong .

I don't think many guys here are running Stratos boats down. They are pissed because Stratos does not seem to be the same company that we loved before. I have always supported Stratos and will continue to tell others that they have a great boat, but the management decisions that they are handing down are what we are upset about. We should not have to earn their support, they need to earn ours...

Re: No interest in Owners T, said who (201pro)

I can understand that Stratos may be upset with all of the negative talk on the net and at the dealers. However, the best way to solve problems and disagreements is to get together and explain what is going on and give a reason why. The absolute best place and atmosphere to do that is at an owners tournament.

I fully understand that no company will make the most popular decisions all of the time. For instance, all of us have had to do things we did not like because of finances or other reasons we could not prevent. Major companies are no different.

However, it is my opinion that cutting the ties to the owners tournament will further the gap between the owners and the company and not help the situation. The owners tournament was designed to "reward" the people who purchased a Stratos and let them meet the people behind the scenes at the company they had invested in. Without that contact between the owners and the company there will be unanswered questions and incorrect information and a feeling of distrust.

The only way to solve problems is to come together, hash it out, come to an understanding and move forward. Without a place to come together that will never happen.
