    2006 Stratos 200 pro XL w/225 ETEC HO & 8" jackplate SETUP!!!!!

    Lots of questions?

I just purchased this rig (2006 Stratos 200 Pro xl, 225 ETEC HO, 8" manual plate)
Whats the set up rules on this.

First off i know ya'll are gonna aks me mph w/GPS. My GPS is not in yet, I'll tweek the top end when it gets here.
    Prop type and size?
    shaft to pad height?

Currently propped with a 27 renagade 4 blade and it just doesn't seem to work at all, easily blows out when planing, sub par lift, poor speed at 5500 r's. lots of slip i think. Just doesn't seem to be the right fit.

Lots of chine walk at WOT, probably need to come up with the plate to help the walking out, but can't afford to with the the current blow out problem with the 27 gade, it would really be bad if I pulled it up wouldn't it?

Like I said I need a starting point.
    Different prop?
    Engine height?
What is the wot rpm range of the 225 etec?
    minimum water pressure at wot?

I'm happy with average ie. holeshot, top speed, acceleration, don't like chine walk.
    Need some guidance. KENNY

You want to turn it to 5700, not over 5800. Start at 3" under pad and come up, most end up around 2.75" below. Props, either a worked 27 Tempist or a 28 Raker2 will get you in the ballpark. Do not drop below 15lbs water pressure.

I have the exact same set up. The best prop for me has been the 28" TXP(3 blade). with this prop and a pretty high engine height I got 79 mph gps. It probably has more but I was hanging on for dear life!! when I got this boat the engine was lower and chine walk was bad. it went away as the engine height went up. Hole shot was not great. boat ran 74-76 fully loaded tournament ( 2 guys tackle livewells bass etc.)
I did have a problem... that nice prop got banged up and I ordered a new one from C and O. I thought I had a 27" TXP so thats what I ordered. Only after I took the banged one off did I see the numbers and it was a 28".
The 27" is slower about 73 mph light with a low engine height. gonna raise it some for this weekend but RPMs are getting up there. hole shot is great!! I'll get back to you here when I get a another day on the water.
get that gps hooked up, get some TXP's to try out and hang on...
Great boat great motor, you'll love it...

Ran it with the 28 raker, WOW!!!!, A SCREAMER. Still got a little chine at top end, shaft is at 3.5 below gonna go up some more to see if I can eliminate some of it. Still don't have my GPS, dealer said 332's are back ordered, lowrance is sending him a 520C??? said its new. but want be here for a week or so. I'll get #'s then. the 27 needs to be worked before it will work good.

run that 28 Raker at 2 3/4" below the pad and it will be hard to beat.
