    03- 201 fuel tank

What is the size of the gas tank on an 03 201. I can run it down to 1/4 tank or so and it only takes about 18-20 gal. to fill it up. Doesn't sound right, I think my fuel gauge isnt working right.

guess you changed boats from the jav 19 should be 1 50 gallon tank if not registering right you can check the gauge by shorting it out by removing the wires from the sending unit and then taking a screwdriver and placing both wires on the metal it should show full any less it is the gauge. MY guess it is the sending unit as they are not the best in the world. if gauge is working it is the sending unit. need to run tank out and replace it easy in the newer boats pain in the rump in my 1994 201. good luck.

My 06 201 has a 50 gallon tank and the guage is off a touch...3/4 tank means it needs 6 gallons to top it off, 1/2 tank means 18 gallons to top her off, below that I don't know. I never run it lower than that since I'd have a heart attack at the price to top her off.

That boat has a L-shaped gas tank. They did not use a gauge that was able to compensate for that and it will be off (approximately 1/4 tank). They started using a gauge that was able to be programed at the factory in the 2006 models and they are more accurate.

It seems to be about the same as everyone else, just gonna live with it. I never run it below 1/4 either cause of the gas price so it doesn't really matter. At least this way when it reads empty I will still have enough gas to get back to the ramp.

One good thing, the other day I was out and didnt put any gas in the boat before I left. With the gauge reading 1/2 to start and then down to 1/4 it kept me from running around the lake and forced me stick with some areas that I probably would have left much quicker had I felt I had plenty of gas.
