    Moving Lowrance Unit

I am thinking of moving the Lowrance unit on the bow of my boat from the side to the front. The previous owner had it mounted to the right side and I find myself always looking over my shoulder at it when I am fishing.

Since he drilled a 3/4" hole in the floor of the boat to pull the cables through what precautions do I need to take when I move the location? I don't want to replace the carpet in the floor yet but I also don't want the hole to be there either. Is there something that I can cover up the hole with until I decide to recarpet?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

    Just a suggestion...

try cutting a 3/4" dowel rod (from Lowes or Home Depot) to fit in the hole. Cover it with some indoor/outdoor carpet (also from one of the larger hardware stores). With a little patience, you could probably blend it in really well and make it look like the hole was never there.

If the hole is round you can probably find some kind of cap such as those used to plug holes in a desk where wires run or just get some kind of plate you can screw on to cover it. Not exactly sure where on your rig where this hole is but here are my ideas. One option may be installing a 12V plug there. Or if you have room you could enlarge the hole install a cup holder
