some consumer guys have been doing surveys and investigations into e-bay motors ( boats cars and such) and they have been finding up to 45% are fake ads or scams.

The sale stopped at 11:30 PM west coast time. Then it completly dissapered from watch list. I wrote the guy he said? he was out of the counrty and got it in a divorce and it was in Sanfancisco at Ebays holding warehouse and they would be the third party. Has anyone heard of this I was tempted but sounded to good to be true with free freight.
I has several items disappear from my watch list. Ebay told me they took them down because they were fradulent ads, be careful.
Why would you sell something that cheap anyway. You could take your boat to any Marine dealer and they would give you that for it.
Yeah... I have over 500 perfect feeback not even a neutral. I got a message about 5 months ago from eBay asking me if I was listing a motorcycle because some of the stuff didn't line up mainly my location. They pulled it down before I could even look at what the motorcycle even was. Somehow they are getting legit usernames and then list it but just about all the cases are too good to be true stuff so that's the first red flag...next one is you don't get a reply back on the item or it's some bogus I'm overseas thing and send me the money scam. I saw a 2002 Kubota Tractor like that fro buy it now at 5500 with a bunch of attachments...it disappeared within 18 hours. I love ebay and I've bought trucks, RV's, boats, and a car on it over the past 7 years but I'm careful and so far so good.

If it's in Ebay holding warehouse it is a scam....... They have you send the money out of the country and ounce they get the deposit, your money is gone.....

If it looks too good to be true, then it most likely is.
When buying a large item like a boat, never send any money. Deal with the seller one on one after the auction closes and make the transaction then.
Don't exepect to get a super 21ft 3 yrs old rockin bass boat for $5K, it just doesn't happen. Search the net (iboats.com, boats.com, nada.com, etc..) and see what that particular rig is going for out there. Once you know the avarage real market price then you can work a deal that will be good for you and the seller.

The first thing that should catch your eye is the Ebay Warehouse thing. Ebay has no warehouse..that right there should tell you it's a scam!!
