    RPM ?

    Greeting , i have a 40Hp basstracker Model #TJ40ELESF I replaced the the power pack #18-5794 it hsa a 6100 limit at WOT, but today i took it on the lake, and i notice that at WOT it was doing 7000+ rpm so i immediately backed off the throttle, What would cause that to happen ? i also have a new prop on it from Michigan Wheel Propeller exact replacement (12 1/2X13) can someone help me please thanks

    Welcome to the BBC,
    Does it sound like 7,000 RPM you'd know . the rev limiter should have kicked in at 6100. I would suspect the prop, but have the tach verified it sure won't last long at 7K.
