3 1/2 is to low. bring it up to around 2 1/2. if your jackplate has dots, you need to be able to see 8 of them

    Re: Setup help for 2007 20I 250hpdi series 2 (Skeeterman92)

I have an 08 20i with 250hpdi I run 25 t1 2 peaple full livewells and 3/4 to full both tanks I run 70 @ 5800-5900 rpm. I think 6000 rpm is max for that motor. I have an issue with my tach it will only read 5600 wot at 70mpg. I have heard of other tachs go bad and only read up to 5600 rpm. You should be closer to 5900-6000. hope this helps.

thanks guys, i am not seeing any Dots getting ready to move it now and see if the rain stops and see what i can get out of it , has anyone tried a 26 on this setup seems like it would be the ideal prop in a tempest

ok just noticed something that tossed me for a loop so called a skeeter dealer and found out something, on my boat the decal and max rating sticker said 21I, dealer said and title says it's a 20I,
    SKEETER says 21I

so what kind of numbers should we be getting now probably not as good as i was hoping

    Re: (Skeeterman92)

most everything I've ready or seen points towards the 25T being the correct prop.

Your partner get's in the low 70's with the exact same setup, have you tried measuring his jackplate and looking at his setup? You're RPM's are only 5600 I would be raising the motor..... If you match his setup and end up getting the same roughly on the RPM's and you still aren't seeing the aproximate same speeds then perhaps I would look at getting the prop B&B'd by Mark.

Good luck let us know how it shakes out

    Re: (09-20i)

a 21i is a totally different ship. it should top out by your self at 70-72 tops in best conditions. 2 people loaded your gonna be 66-70 tops.

ok guys so after finding out i have a extra ft on the boat , a little disappointed, what can a worked pro do for me i really need to be in the 72 to 74 with 2 people and moderate load, i always run fairly light weight is not that big of a issue as far as gear.

    Re: (Skeeterman92)

Im confused you thought you were buying a 20I and ended up actually purchasing 21I and didn't realize it?

Man if paychecks only worked that way.

    Nice Bug by the way!!

Ok sooo I would start by adjusting your height first still. Get the RPM's up and then I would give Mark a shout on the props board and see if a B&B will give you some added performance.

Well when i went and picked it up from the Guy he had it listed as a 2008 20 I fully loaded 250 yam

i went and looked at the boat the first thing i said was oh it's a 21I he said no it's a 20I just got a 21I decal on it. i said ok no prob what does the title say.
Title says 20i so i said ok no problem it must be a 20I, well after getting the boat i noticed that the maximum rating sticker also said 21I
I said that is no mistake, so i called my skeeter dealer and they confirmed it was a 21I
    That is how it happen

ok i have raised the JP and now i have 2.5 inches and have not took it out because of the pissing RAIN. getting it out tommorw to see what it will do , my partners boat is a 20I, so i can't compare now, he's gonna be faster i am sure

that will never happen with a 21i unless you soup up the motor. will be hard pressed to do that by yourself.

    Re: (MD 20i)

totally disagree, i have a 06 21i with a yami 250, original 25 t1 that came with the boat and a few dings in it, consistantly runs 73 gps with 2 guys, full gear and 3/4 gas, has run 78 me alone 1/2 tank cold weather, it will run if its set-up properly and trimmed right.

    Re: (Skeeterman92)

2.75 below pad, weight in boat needs to be evenly distributed, scuff the pad with scotch brite and don't over trim, adjust oil pump to lean out, i have no idea what else but she runs, i was told i got a good one by many guys in 20i 's that can't catch me or pass me, my plugs are three years old and when i pull them every spring they look brand new. I'm not trying to say my boat is the nuts, actually i'm not a big fan of alot things about skeeter, i think they could do alot better on the fit n finish, but it does run great and handles ruff stuff easily.
