HELP: 2010 20i Dash Panel

All,

I am fixing to go pick up a new to me 2010 20i. The boat has an HDS8 mounted in the dash. I have heard bad stories about mounting these large units in the dash causes cracking in the unit and allows water in. I would like to get a new dash panel and put the HDS8 on a RAM mount. Does anyone know how to get ahold of a panel?

Call Skeeter, they should give you the Part# for a dash panel insert that fills a fishfinder...then call your dealer and order it...about $30...

Do you still have your old dash panel with the cutout for a HDS8? I have an 07 20i and want to set up an HDS8 in-dash.

I have an '07 20i with an hds8 on a ram mount because the '07 isn't the same dash as the '09 and up. The 7 is the largest that will fit in the dash unless you build you own custom dash, there isn't enough room between the gauges for the 8 nor the height unfortunately.

So the 7 fit comfortably in between the gauges?

Did you mount an HDS up on the bow as well? I'm considering putting a 7 up there, if I can find a way to make it fit.

I sent an email to Nick519svs about custom dash panels. I'm going to explore options with him as well.

Didn't know how it worked out for you, but the dash you have is a different insert than mine. You will need the larger insert blank to fit the 7 in dash. Up front, the largest that will fit is a 5. 7 or larger will need a ram mount unfirtunately.

another (cheaper option) is to get a piece cut by MM (board sponsor) that goes over the hole. I'd pulled a 997 out and went back with an 1198 on a RAM mount .. Got the decal on eBay

the 06,07,08 had 2 diferent dashes. one like yours for the samller dashes and the other like this for the larger units
