For those with a SHO, what's been your $$ savings over the past year?

With the SHO being out on the water for about a year now, I'm curious what the cost of ownership has been for a 250 HP SHO vs 250 HP HPDI? What's been the $$ savings in 2 stroke oil & gas?

I've bought 7 Quarts of 4 Oil....compare the saving to what 2 Stroke Oil Costs plus add in the mess to handle and have on hand. Plus Fuel Savings I don't have any data from before but I can tell I visit the gas station alot less now than before plus fuel savings having to drive to the dealership to get more 2 Stroke Oil... Just the Time and Oil Costs savings will keep me from EVER owning another 2 Stroke!

Lots saved in 2 stroke oil but I have 62 hours on my SHO and it's blown. Hoping it's a fluke as I'm a fan of the 4 stroke. Yamaha diags show not owner caused but failed rings on cyl 6 and failing compression levels on every other cyl.

Read the "making oil" thread in the Yamaha forum for more info.

If you have to worry about saving money, better find another hobby.

Whether it's an SHO, Opti, Verado, E'tec, HPDI or what ever you run, you've got to pay to ride the ponies.

I know someone who blew up their second one this week. I hope the issues can be found and resolved, becasue it really has the potential to be a fantastic motor.
