My stock T1 27P would only turn 5500 RPM and run 70 mph and occassionally run up to 72 - 73 but not even close in acceleration and the Quad IV will easily/alway run up to 74+...until Yamaha works up a 26P T1 I'm sold on the four blades for this hull/engine combo

Yamaha owns Turbo get a Turbo TXP 26 and you'll make that Skeeter Fly! I just did!!! Haven't got it all dialed in but got my RPMs where I want them and better holeshot and faster than 25 or 27 T1.

My dealer tried that prop on his fx demo and said the turbo props are junk

My 27 ventless turned to a 26p will perform the same as that 4blade at 5500 rpm. Skeeter needs to make a good 26p

+1...I had Mark Croxton work my 27T1 ventless down to a 26 and it is pretty sweet. It's still not getting up past about 5600-5700, so I might send it back and let him take it down a tad more. It's close, though.

Doug - What kind of RPMs/Speed are you seeing with the Turbo 26?

Re: FX 20 250 SHO 4 blade prop results (benconkin)

I was considering having Mark massage my 27P T1 down to 26P but Mark advised me that he would rather work a 25P up, says it's a better prop. I sold my 27P on the prop board, starting asking a few questions and ended up with the Quad IV, so far it is better in every way than my T1, I'm awaiting the Razor 4 from Mark and will let you know how that runs as well.

I too have not heard great things about the Turbo 26P and opted not to go that way, if you're going to run a three blade have Mark bend you up a 25P.

Re: FX 20 250 SHO 4 blade prop results (Wild Card)

There are different Turbo Props the Turbo TXP is what most are running. Good Friend Harold Allen ran one last year and couldn't be caught by anyone in his FX20. I know several others that run the Turbo TXP and made a huge difference.

I've got an hour running it and haven't had the same conditions to compare exactly but here was my issues. I have excessive loaded boat with tons of tackle! But still comparable. Have Atlas Hyd Plate so I adjust on the fly trying to find sweetest spot for each prop.

    25T1 - 6000 RPM - 73 mph
    27T1 - 5500 RPM - 73 mph

Turbo TXP 25 - 5800 RPM -75mph but I can raise alot higher on jackplate and still keep running and increase RPM to 6000 -

I'm getting the best prop man in the business John's Hot Props in Nixa, MO and we are going to start tweaking it up towards a 26 says we can get more improvement and he's never lied to me. He thinks he can get another 1-3 mph. Easier to tweak up then down and I think with my load 26 may be too much but I bet we get dang close.

    Doug,

Thanks for sharing the data. Please keep us posted as you get more results and I will gladly post the results for Mark's Razor 4 after I get a little time with it.

So if you were buying one would it be 25 or 26p?

Re: FX 20 250 SHO 4 blade prop results (SKEETERFX)

Depends on load you are carrying. I went with the 25 so I can tweak to my normal load and I'm a pretty good size old fat boy...If you carry a lighter load then I would probably go 26. I would rather be safe and tweak than over proped and have to sell to get what I need.

If you come to the owners tournament Turbo Props are always there and will let you test the different props. Stop by their trailer and they will be there to help get you a prop that Yamaha doesn't offer.
