Power Pole or talon??

I am looking to buy either a power pole or a Talon, I been reading up on both and it seems that the talon has a lot of problems. I have a 96 ZX180, I plan on mounting either one on the jack plate, and not on the transom. I am worried about drag in on plane, also I dont want the bloody thing to stick up over the motor like a flag pole either.I know the talon will be a little high, what about the power pole. and what about the pumps on the power pole, has anyone have a problem. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talon problems? What problem is there? If ur talking about nuts n bolts, its done n taken care of. Other than that, no one is reporting any issues with the talon, mechanically or electrically.

As for power pole. I don't hear any issues with them either.

It's really up to u, whether u want electrical or hydraulic powered. I've never seen a power pole or talon side by side mounted on a boat, so not really sure how high the talon stands above the power pole.

They're both gonna stick up about the same height from the ones I've seen. Generally you can back into a 7ft garage door without having to lower the talon. If you shop around you can get into an 8ft talon with 2 remotes and jackplate bracket for under $1200, don't think you can do that with the ppole. They both do what they're supposed to.

When I get one, it'll be a Talon, as I really don't have any additional room for a pump in my bilge area....

I've got an 8ft pro power pole on my ZX225 and the pump installed right next to one of my batteries. I run a 36v TM so i've 4 batteries plus the water seperator to contend with. the way it's configured right now i'd still have room for a second pump if i get another pp.

Are guys still using the powerpole brackets to mount Talons to the side of the jackplates instead of the Talon brackets?? I've heard that the Talon brackets flex too much. Thoughts??
