Posted this on yamaha forum but was wondering what some of you with this setup were turning in rpms, I have the 23m prop?

I'm running a 23m also. 58 to 61mph @ 5800rpm's. That is pretty much what the majority of everyone is running, unless you do some mods with Hydro-tech Phase kits.

I really don't pay much attention to RPM's. That said if I were turning abnormally high RPM's I would certainly notice it. I have never made adjustments, my boat will run 62-64, but I don't push it that far much. I'm in no hurry, and speed doesn't play much of a factor in my boating/fishing. It's a dependable, nimble, comfortable, and fairly spacious fishing machine, and it's perfect for me. I think my prop is a 23m as well

i have a 23M running around 5900 60-62 depending on how hot it is out. i have seen 63 before but i was running a 25M and it was cooler outside. i wouldnt run a 25 in the summer though.

I don't have the ZX but do have the SX 190 with same motor. I have a 23 M on mine. I have to agree with Chris. With our heat and humidity down here I'd stick with that. In summer I can turn around 5800 and get around 58 mph. Winter I can hit 6000 for 62 mph.
