tach

[2000yamaha150]

My tach has gone out on my 2000 ox66150 I don't really have the money to replace at the moment. My question is, will I cause any damage to my motor if I run it without a tach, I mean it's not like it's an extreme power house or anything, it's just a 150. However, if there are any experts on here that think it would not be wise I'm not gonna do it. Any input is appreciated...

if you weren't over reving your motor before the tach went out it won't hurt anything
its rare thing for a yamaha tach to go out , you should check it to see that it still has power to it maybe just a loose wire, i think its the yellow wire but check with your dealer to make sure
