Just got a 96 zx180 /175 merc efi
it has a dinged up 24 trophy now and runs about 65-66 GPS with no jackplate.
I think its capable of more and not happy with the 4 blade.
Anyone running this hull/motor ? Your setup ?

The set-ups board guys will give you the best answers. I am guessing someone will mention getting a 24 Tempest Plus. You are doing pretty good if you are running the 65-66.

I have a 96 ZX200 with a 200 , 10" jack plate and get 65-66.
I wouldn't expect much more.
That is extremely good for that boat..I had that boat with a jackplate and a Mercuery 150 EFI and could only get 62. I think the 175 should be good for another couple mph. I think you are pretty much at the peak for that boat.
I have a 96 zx180 and the 175 Merc running a 26 tempest plus and jackplate...the plate will help you about 2-4 mph, but you speed can only be measures accurately by a gps
I have a hds7 and 5 so gps speed isnt a problem.
I put on the 25 tempest and got 68.3 by myself , No plate yet
I have heard this hull/motor is not hard to make break 70 ( with a light load)
