As far as a direct drop in ....... I would say 'No'.

I say this b/c my '05 is molded in ...... thus my boat (and yours) would be before the years of modular consoles.

As far as 'can it be done' .......... anything can be done with time/knowledge/modification. Provided the newer modular console looked the same as your '04 on the outside, I'm sure you can rig a way for it to attach. you might have to add filler of some sort, but I'm sure it would be do-able.

Personally I'd only do this on a white boat as metalflake/gelcoat tends to fade over time, thus a new console would be a different shade. Thus a white would not be as noticeable.

Another thing to consider, as well, is modifying a boat like this, what would it do to resale.
