    Why no Sho

I have scanned through several dealer websites and I notice that the ZX line is still sporting the 2 strokes (2011). Is there a reason they are not going with 4 strokes on them?

Re: Why no Sho (gettin after 'em)

They will sell them if you order them. The boats you are seeing are package boats pre-rigged. They have thousands of 2-strokes they are trying to move out of the warehouse.

If your willing to pay the money they will put one on for you.

Almost all remaining two strokes are already in the field and not in a warehouse.

I see lots of new 2 strokes on the show room floors. My dealer has 5 new boats and all have HPDI's.

    Re: Why no Sho (SkeeterBob)

Dealers probably got a good deal on the boats rigged with the 2 strokes that the factory was trying to liquidate. This was the case when I was boat shopping in 08 when they went from the S1 HPDI to S2. I was looking in December and they said they had X amount of boats on order with the old HPDI and they would be priced good. I just looked at this dealers inventory online a few days ago and they have quite a few 11 models with 2 strokes.

SHO start at 200 HP too...

HPDI were built until 2010 so there can still be motors in the distribution channels that are new - prior year built motors. Could be some heck of a buys on those boats with old motors.

Probably because of the problems they are having with the SHO's. The HPDI's already have the reputation for reliability, so the dealers are skeptical about fully committing to the SHO motors, until they get their issues resolved.

That's a new one, haven't heard of any major issues with the SHO's. Tell us more with some facts.

All the SHO problems are always mentioned by envious owners of other brands .

#1. Only issue with my 250 sho on a zx has been the oil change at 20hrs. #2 it uses no two stroke oil.#3 It halls a-- for a 250 zx, and has never left me on the lake. Lets Talk about my last motor a 250 m. #1coil,coil,coil,coil,compressor,broke motor mounts, lower unit, computer, power trim, vst and more.So how could i be any worse off if the sho does have issues.

    Re: Why no Sho (newbugman)

Haven’t heard of any problems with the sho but the merc is another story. Lucky they have 5yr warranties. The guys who are out are paying BIG bucks to get em fixed. Every time the compressor blows the air injectors go with it.

Re: Why no Sho (Rich Z)

Almost a year and no problems with my 250 SHO. I looked at Merc. and Evinrude 250's last year but all I saw were coil issues on the pro xs and injector and planning issues with the e-tech I had dismissed 250 HPDI because of fuel and oil consumption but as luck would have it the Sho came out about then so I ordered my new boat with it and got serial #90 and love it I would do it the same if I was in the market again this year.
