    Question about the vmax

Hi all. I have a quick and probably dumb question. I noticed that anymore when I go to start the motor first thing in the morning, it is very lazy and it takes a few tries to actually get it running. Now I only start the motor once a week, and sometimes only once every other week...But is this normal?? I think it is, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask for some added comfort...the motor is a 2010 200 Vmax series 2. Thanks.

Re: Question about the vmax (skeeterbasszx200)

Mine usually fires right up, even after sitting 2-3 weeks in the dead of winter.

I never pump my EFI, even in below freezing temps and it fires right up every time.

Re: Question about the vmax (skeeterbasszx200)

Mine usually starts no problems at all.

Last Saturday we're 2 minutes from blast off at our last event of the year. I turn the key it cranks and nothing.. i turn it again... cranks and still doesn't fire... ok panic now sets in!! I crank again and it finally fires up... for the rest of the day it was fine.

I don't know if the weather has anythign to do with it or if i just didn't wait long enough after turning the key for the vst tank to pressurize... it was fine for the rest of the day though.

I normally never have to prime the engine it just starts but this had me worried especially 2 minutes from blast off !!!

Now whenever i get on the water i'm starting my engine right away if nothing else it'll give me time to at least try to fix a problem if there is one.

Re: Question about the vmax (skeeterbasszx200)

mine would crank, but if you gave it any gas at all, it would cut off until it warmed up just for a minute. It wouldn't power up enough to back itself off the trailer unless it was all the way in. Only took a minute to get warm though.

Re: Question about the vmax (skeeterbasszx200)

Anybody figure this one out, let me know as my 06 250hpdi has the same issue. Had it in the shop for sync/link but all I got out of that was a bill for 82.50 and same problem. Hasn't always been like that and like everyone else it never has an issue after the first start of the day.

carbon build up caused that on mine. Run a shock treatment of seafoam and replace the plugs

</td></tr></table>My HPDI did this last season when I first bought it used. But as stated above I cleaned it up good with a stiff dose of seafoam and new plugs and now when I turn the key it cranks about three times and then fires right up.

Charge your cranking battery to full charge with a separate charger and see if it makes a difference.
