    rotor for a v4al-19m

would anyone know where i can get a rotor for a johnson V4AL-19M? i'm looking to purchase this motor but the person is telling me that the rotor under the distributor cap is missing. i figure this would be a hopefully small expense if the motor turns out to run decently. does anyone know if this was a reliable engine.? this is my first motor purchase for a bass boat that i bought. i know its an older engine, but i was and still am in sticker shock from the price of newer engines. my boat is a 1983 smokercraft basscatcher 17ft. i'm looking for someone with parts in the michigan area. the motor serial number is j2837157.

thanks in advance for any help given.

Missing rotor...sounds dodgy, how long has it been missing and why...in the long term a new or good working S/H motor might be cheaper. Just my opinion.

owner said that he was trying to find out why the starter worked intermittently while trying perform a compression test. as he was checking the engine over, he misplaced the rotor. i guess the starter will need to be replaced as well. i'm just hoping these are minor problems that can easily be corrected.
