    Garmin GCV 30

I have a GCV 30 along with GT22 and on my GCV30 the side Vu seems to not be working. The DI work fine on both the GCV 30 and the GT22. I have a 1040xs and I think it stopping reading when I updated my 1040xs. Any else having any issues? All I get is a yellow split screen. Did i change the settings some how?

It sort of sounds like you had SideVu and now you don't. The GT22 doesn't do SideVu so if you had it before it had to come from a different transducer.

One of us has their nomenclature messed up and it may be me. As far as I know, Garmin black boxes are GCV-10, GSD20, 21,24,25 & 26. I don't know of the existence of a GCV30. Is it a black box or what? Garmin does make a GT30-TM down and side sonar transducer.

You are saying you have a 1040xs, GT22 and GCV30. If I knew what a GCV30 was, I might could answer your question. Your 1040xs has an 8 pin transducer port and a network port. So how is this stuff all connected?

It's still a bit complicated. The GT30 is a 12 pin transducer. You don't have anywhere to plug a 12 pin transducer on a 1040xs. A lot of people plug the GT30 into a GCV10 which has a 12 pin connector and then run a network cable from the GCV10 to the 1040xs. To get SideVu on a 1040xs you have to get it through the network port.

About all I can suggest is the normal things you've probably already tried. Disconnect and reconnect to make sure of the connections. Double check the GCV10 is powering up. If that doesn't work then you need to find someone who could loan you a spare SideVu transducer to try. Sorry!! I know that's not much help.

Be sure the GCV is also up to date on software. You need it powered up and networked when you do software up-dates on the main mfd. The latest for the GCV 10 is 3.3. You should be able to pull that up on the MFD to check.
