Gps said 40.....i was full throttle and running around 5500 rpms...

if anyone has an ideas please let me know if that sounds just about right! also i was thinking bout buying a new stainless prop...what would yall recommed for a better hole shot...and or higher top speed...LMK TY
i have and 05 sx180 with f115 stock prop. i have had it up to 50 but average about 46 thats with full tank all my gear my buddies gear and him. just me gets closer to 48 ive only seen 50 maybe 3 times no idea why it does not happen more. can tell ya i have never caught a fish going that fast. i catch way more fish with the motor off. thats with my gps
Had an SX176 rated for a 130, but had a 115, did about 45mph untill i put a 6in jackplate and a 21kseries yamaha prop, pitched down to a 20. Then she would run 53 loaded and 55-56 by myself. Props make a big difference and once you start prop horing youll need to go to rehab to stop!
i just bought a yamaha pro series prop 13-1/2x19 once it arrives ill test it out...
i have a customer that has his for sale, sold it to him back in 2007..

Great thread!! My sx180/f115 per my LMS480 GPS seen 47 mph once with my me & my wife aboard, full gas tank with the usuall weekend warrior gear, lunch, & beverage treats...i was told to slow down. Don't know how fast we could've gone. Generally 42-45. However, I think the stars were aligned perfectly that one day. Any more speed is wishful. Stock prop (19) is too big when the boat is weighted..ie a larger fishing partner or when the live wells are filled, F115 rrr's are not in the "high" sweet spot regardless of trim. Future plans are a (17") prop & have the stock prop fixed (mark's).
