Bilge Compartment Lid

My '06 21i bilge compartment lid won't engage the latch when closed and I can't figure out how to adjust it. Because the fit is so tight the lid stays closed but I can't lock it either with the key or the electronic lock because the latch won't engage. Speaking of the electronic lock I noticed on this particular lid there is a black solid piece that covers the electronic locking mechanism from coming up when engaged, all of my other lids have the same piece but they all have a hole in the center so the lock can come up through to lock the handles. Any ideas on adjustment or why the the black piece is different? I read somewhere that if one of the electronic locks doesn't work none of them do and would like for everything to work. Thanks

I had the same problem with my back lid not latching on my 20i. The mechanism that is screwed to the boat can be loosened on one end and swung toward front of boat and this will give you enough "grab" so the lid can be closed and it will latch. Actually I had three lids that had that problem and that is how I got all of them to latch now.
As far as the electronic lock, I can not help on that one. I have had no problem with mine at all.

Thanks I'll try that. Is the silver deadbolt (for lack of a more proper term) that is actuated by the electric lock on yours covered by a black rectangular piece screwed to the frame work of the compartment? On my bilge compartment the piece is solid whereas on all of my other compartments the same piece has a circular hole cut out of it where the silver deadbolt can come up through it and lock the compartments.

No silver deadbolt on my bilge area lid. If is to be locked, I will have to do it with a key
