    20i question

Buddy has an 07 20i w/ Yammy 250 (think that is right). He just put on a 25 pitch T1 from a 27 T1, with the 27 he was hitting upper 60's and mid 5k's for rpms, with the 25 his speed dropped to approx. 65 and his rpms shot up to about 6k. Not sure of his pad to prop height. He said hole shot and handling were better, but the top end was down. He has compared jackplate height to others and they are the same. Does this sound right or is there an issue somewhere? Will put this in the Yammy threads also.

    Re: 20i question (hsb)

A 25T1 turning 5900 or 6000 at 65 mph seems low. I'm no expert on all the variables that go into setup, but my '09 20i runs low to mid 70s with the same prop and I have rarely touched 6000 rpm, usually 5800-5900. I think that's pretty typical on the 20is.

Somethings way off i have an 07 20i and run a 25t1 and it turns 5800rpms and runs around 72mph all day long thats with a dinged up prop so i Currently have a 25 fury on it and it still turns 5700 and runs around 74 by myself with tournament tackle.

God grant that i may fish until my dying day and when it comes to my last cast i then most humbly pray that when in the lord safe landing net i\'m peacefully asleep that i be judged as one good enough to keep.

Yeah something isnt right. The 20i should run in the low to mid 70's.

I have 25t1 and at 5900 rpms I can do about 74 on a perfect day.

Sit the split on the jackplate at 2" and that should get you in the general area of the right height. It will be so close you won't mess with it anymore. That should get you around 5800-5900 at 72-73 with average load. Weight to the rear and balanced. If you get 70, be happy. No two boats are the same and i have helped sit up a couple 20-I's and with everything matching, no two are the same. Knowing how to trim out is the final ticket.
