On the lake yesterday and noticed the trim gauge "jumping around". I stop and move the sensor arm all the way through it's travel and the gauge seems to work fine. I take back off and it's starts doing it again and soon won't indicate at all, just reads as if trimmed all the way up. Trim pump works fine and I noticed that when I trim up or down that the needle jumps a little bit like normal (voltage drop?) but stays at the top. Just wondering if this is something common to Johnson. I found the plug from the sending unit and measured with an ohm meter, from up to down it measured approx 20 ohms to 120. Also grounding the tan/wh wire to the gauge should have made needle move? I would appreciate any trouble shooting tips.
TIA
