    Bilge Pump & Aerator Problem

I have a 2005 Skeeter 225. I suddenly had a problem with both bilge pumps, 2 aerator pumps and 2 circulatory pumps quit working. All other accesories work. I have juice to the switches. I can hear the relays clicking in the breakers/relay box when I turn on each switch. The lights come on under each aerator/circulating pump switch when I turn them on. The lights stay on, all the time, for the bilge pump switch whether I turn the switch off or on. There are overrides on each breaker but using them has no affect. I tried checking the voltage coming out of the breaker box for each of these accesories but get varying results. I.E. some shows 12 volts coming out when I turn on the switch. Some shows lower voltage. Some show no voltage coming from the breaker box to the accesory. Anyone experience this? Any ideas? Bad breaker/relay box?

If they look just like these, I will bet the the pumps are all bad.
I had some trouble with these in my boat, and finally ended up having Skeeter replace them all with different (new model) pumps. Just pop one of the cartridges out, and see if the motor housing (right below the green impellars you see in the pics) is cracked.

By the way. Welcome to the BBC!

I'm sorry you are having troubles.

P.S......The pumps in those pictures were my spares that I carried when I still had that type in my boat. They are all (3) brand new, and I will sell them to you cheap, if you find out you need them. It's pretty obvious when they are cracked. You will easily see it when you pull the cartridge out of it's pump housing.

Thanks for the welcome. Do you think it is likely that all 6 pumps went at the same time? I guess maybe I could have done something to cause an electrical surge????

Been pretty cold. Could they be iced up?

I didn't realize that the bilge pumps also didn't work. I guess I kinda speed-read your post, and i'm not that speedy....Sorry.

I never had trouble with the bilge pumps. It was just the fill, and recirc pumps that gave me fits for a while. After re-reading your post, I don't know what to think. Are you sure you have a real good ground? The multiple voltage thing kind of makes me lean that way.

I have had mine crack on the side before. I don't like the pumps because they hold water and can freeze. They can also bind up in the case if they are installed improperly.

Rhittle you have a bad switch panel in my opinion.I dont think all your pumps would go bad all at the same time.

Re: Bilge Pump & Aerator Problem (bulletlover)

Would it be switch panel if I can hear the relays clicking when I turn on the switch? To those that mentioned freezing, I keep my boat inside all the time and, the problem began mid summer.

I would say switch panel if all fuses are good and there is no power to all the pumps.

Inline fuses (in the wiring under the dash).
Not the open fuses in the panel...check those also though.
I had three livwell pumps go out over the weekend. I "assume" they were frozen and I pushed the switches and blew their fuses.

Mine had blown three inline fuses.
I think the new secret color is "A-Rig"..........

Do the 2005 boats have fuses on the pumps? It is quite odd that all would go out at the same time.

Rhittle you have a bad switch panel in my opinion, My 2004 did the same thing and it was the soft touch pad switch panel...... take it to your dealer as it should be under warranty, if not it is like 1600.00 for parts alone..

    Looking4five

I was doing a search for a Aerator pump for my 04 ZX225 Skeeter and I came across this old post where you had a spare pump you wanted to get rid of since Skeeter upgraded yours. do you still have this pump?

    Thanks
