For $30K, should be able to pick up a great used boat for that and get a full size one. Also depends on location, some of the ZX190's with 150's are going for mid $20'sK......

Not to steer you away from a skeeter but.....my money for $30k..I would have to go with a new stratos 294 pro xl, they come with 200hp motors and are little bullets. I fished out of a buddies the last couple years, we flip alot in stump fields. It's just the right length, you can get a 5 year warranty on the motor and do low to mid 70's in it.

If you were to get a skeeter I would suggest a zx200. anything 20' or more tends to be harder to navigate through flipping areas. I ended up with a used 2000 zx202dc, it's a 20 footer and really like it in rough water and the low 70mph speeds. I didn't have to break the bank on it either.

If you don't mind buying used, you can get a lot more boat/motor for your buck. Many will have several years of warrenty left as well and you don't have to take the huge loss when you drive the new boat off the lot...

Like others said.. get a used 19 or 20 footer.. then get all the bells and whistles you want on it.

I will say there are some advantages to buying new. You will lose some but the peace of ind of a new boat makes it worth it for me.

    Also, IM sent basscat

Re: Lookin at skeeter for my next rig??? (SX 180)

I just purchased a 08 ZX200 (used). I prefer to say previously owned because it was cleaner than show room floor and had less that 14 hrs on it. Got a wonderful deal on it (10k less that the first owner) and I still have waranty till 2012. If you have the time to look and don't rush into things used is almost always better than new. Hell thats almost a full year of college tuition (just school no dorm or meal plan) for the one of the 4 daughters. As you can see i'm price sensitive. Good luck in your search. You should be able to pick up whatever you want for that amount of greenbacks. I got the exact boat I wanted, color, model and manufacturer for less than 26k . Be a Bug Man!! Come on you know you want to!!

    ok

I like to pitch, flip, tight spots, hit big water with big wakes (LOZ) ....I will say this for the money my zx202 with the 225 is an AWESOME boat for the money. I would look at a used zx225, do a good job of checking it out (compression test etc)...you honestly could stay around $20k and add some really cool stuff like a big ole 1197 side imager etc and still be around $25. Yeah you have alot of options.

But if you want new with a warranty..go drive a 294 pro xl, you'll be impressed.

Re: Lookin at skeeter for my next rig??? (Shirtman)

You could probably get close to getting in a New ZX190 or SX 190/SX200 for those dollars. You might also look at some of the demo or prostaff boats or check out the Used Skeeter Boats here on the BBC or I have several listed on my website too. Should be able for $30K to get something with a warranty not matter which you want. Depends on length you want. I personally like the 20'2 ZX225 or 20i and have not found many places I can't get in. If you want a little shorter go with the ZX200.

Fit and finish is great, and there is NO backwash. Come up and take a look and we'll go to the lake.

Re: Lookin at skeeter for my next rig??? (bassen9)

I love my ZX190 but if given a choice between another new ZX190 or slightly used low hr ZX200 it would be the latter. If you went another $5k you can get yourself into a new leftover 08' ZX225, now we're talking. Then again its a buyers market, I bet you could get a ZX190/175hpdi upgrade the trailer to a C-channel with road armor, double axle, front deck plush carpet and some HB side views for about 30K. I just saw this exact boat but a 08' ZX225/225hpdi new leftover with all the upgrades I mentioned for 35K. I don't know what stopped me from trading mine in.
