E-tec 115 motor height on a deep vee aluminum?

I am trying to dial in my prop sizing and would like to know how to measure and where to start ? The boat is a lowe fs185 deep vee aluminum with a 115 e-tec set in the very lowest setting.
Do I measure from the cav plate to the bottom of the keel? (I have read about 1 inch from bottom of boat.

It seem that you measure a bass rig differently?

Any suggestions would be great

wow a 15 month old post and finally a reply.

I ended up lifting the motor by one hole , it is now in the second hole, and am turning a 17 pitch viper ss prop at best 4650 rpm 42 gps mph. Very good I think for a 18.5'deep vee with 95" beam

I am running a very similar rig, my 115hp E-Tec turns my 17" Viper at 5200, the funny thing is with a 21" aluminum prop I only loose a couple of hundred rpms, I would like to try one of those new 15" Rogue props but they arn't in Oz yet.

after reading my own post I relize my mistake 4650 rpm should be 5650 rpm
