YES question

Does anyone know if you can purchase and extended warranty for a yamaha after the original warranty has been expired? Mine expired last August.

I'm not sure but i think you can only purchase extended warranty while the original warranty is still active.

I know mine expires in July this year and i'll be looking to tag on another 3 years. The price i was quotes was around $2200. Not cheap but still cheaper than repairing a possibly blown motor.

I may be wrong but i believe the motor has to be inspected prior to getting a replacement warranty too... I'll be calling Yamaha at some stage to get a clearer view.

You can purchase YES on any Yamaha 1999 and newer whether in warranty or not. If it is out of warranty it is a little more expensive. Either way the engine has to be checked out by a Yamaha dealer before you can get any YES contract.

See your local Yamaha dealer for YES, they have to do the inspection on your engine.
